Hello Dears...
Today I'm posting a different dish,which hail from my native,Dharmapuri...
As it is near to Karnataka,Many of our dishes have the touch of their foodstyle...
Likewise This MOCHAI ROTI,is a version of Karnataka's famous AKKI ROTI,I can say...
But this Mochai rotti has been prevailing as our staple tiffin item in our families...
Especially,It is a better way to empty our left over rice,During Mochai season...
Ok.. Lets look into the recipe now...
MOCHAI ROTI
Rice Flour-2 Cups

Left over Rice/Saadham-1/4 cup
Coconut grated-1/4 cup
Onion-2
G.Chillies-6
Mustard-2 tsp
Urad dhal-1 Tsp
Curry leaves
Coriander leaves
Salt
Oil
Boil the Mochai...
In a kadai,Take a tsp of Oil,Add Mustard,Urad dhal... Let it splutter... Now add The Onions,G.Chillies..Saute till color changes..
Add Curry leaves,Coriander too...
In a broad vessel Take rice flour,Add the boiled Mochai to it... Add salt..Mix well.
Add the sauted onions... Grated coconut.. Saadham..
Mix all well...
Now add Hot water to this.. Mix with a ladle well...
Once it warms down... Knead well with your hands to make a soft dough..
Make Balls...
Flatten it with your palms on a greased Plastic sheet or Plantain leaf...



Tasty Simple Mochai roti is ready...
You dont even need a Side Dish for this...
If you really want,You can serve it with Any Chutney or Kuruma,As well

very interesting recipe,never used fresh mochai in akki roti......

DeleteFresh Mochai tastes good... But you can use Soaked one also.... Hope your family likes it,,.....
